FOUNDATIONS

Whether you are releasing your first recording or sitting on a decade of work that was never properly archived, the terrain is the same. There is no wrong time to arrive here.

Like any house, creative work depends on what's maintained as much as what's made.

This section exists because most of what shapes a lasting creative practice never gets named out loud. Not in contracts or in conversations with well-meaning collaborators — it'sin the rooms where decisions get made without you. It lives in the small procedural choices that feel administrative in the moment and structural in hindsight.

Foundations is the housekeeping. The code of conduct for the working artist who has decided that the conditions for their work are as worth protecting as the work itself.

The STEM Series — Structure, Tools, Entity, Metadata — documents these environments in video: databases, documentation frameworks, archival habits, and the decisions that carry consequences far beyond the moment they appear. None of these videos are comprehensive tutorials. Platforms rename their buttons. Interfaces move. What the videos offer is orientation — enough familiarity that when you arrive alone at the actual platform, the room isn't unrecognizable. You've been there before. You know roughly where the door is.

The descriptions go deeper than the videos. Both are written for the artist who is ready to know what they have.
